I am interested in fiber craft as a method of communication through physical space. Each piece I create is acutely aware of materiality, methodology, and the digital world we inhabit.
The multiplicity of personal identity drives my work. Expressions of self, both controlled and uncontrolled, form who we are as individuals alongside larger concepts of culture and global social identity. The relationship between textiles and the articulation of the self has existed for millennia. Through reflection on my own history and the space I occupy, I create textiles that serve as reflections of my experiences, my desires, my fears, and my larger role in my community.
