Audra Carlisle is a visual artist focused in textile practice, digital fabrication, and design. She will be graduating this upcoming May with her BA in Digital Culture from the school of Arts, Media, and Engineering at Arizona State University.
She is interested in fiber craft as a way to communicate between the past and the present, practicing timeless traditions and methods by utilizing modern materials and technologies. Through her work, she examines the impact of technology on both personal and social identity from an intersectional socialist-feminist perspective.
She is presently working on a series of hand-knit diary sweaters, and a suite of lasercut looms, spindles, and more fiber tools called FABfiber (dcfabfiber.wordpress.com). You can reach her at [email protected]!
